McBeer? Fast Food Chains Testing Out Beer Sales

In an idea that is sure to die before it if really starts, I present the antithesis to the Brewpub model: shitty beer with shitty food. Oh, where do I get off, I love both of those things in moderation, but it’s still a bad idea.

Select U.S. cities have been chosen for this pilot program by Burger King and others, which piggybacks off the introduction by Starbucks of beer and wine sales at a few of its locations.

Why its a bad idea: people go to fast food chains to eat fast, immediately hate themselves and get out. Unless Burger King and others rebrand themselves and the food, no one wants to lounge around. Moreover, even if I want a Bud light with my Bic Mac, are these joints, generally run by 17 year olds, equipped to handle the sale of alcohol and everything that comes with it in these high volume sales formats? Doubt it.
