Track Your Bud….to the factory

Budweiser releases http://www.trackyourbud.ca/, a website where your can track your Bud Can back to one of its 5  Canadian brew factories. The website will also tell you the date your beer was packaged, provides you with a virtual tour of the brewery and gives you a lowdown on the brewing process; just type in your 10-digit bar code – You know, like they did in the old days.

Honestly its not a horrible gimmick and I am not a hater of Budweiser or the macrobrews at all. In fact, I commend their effort to connect with customers in a similar manner to the local craft breweries, which is no doubt a diffucult task when operating on such a large scale. However, in the end, Budweiser has a place – and that place is somewhere in a row 10 at a Blue Jays game, where I’m unlikely to care where my tall boy was originated.  Love those Jays cans though!
